Earlier in the year I wrote a post about gardening with your children. I hope it inspired you to plant some seeds of your own! Here is what our garden did this year:

We grew 5 varieties of tomatoes, 2 varieties of cumber, squash and zucchini. Baby watermelons, cantaloupe, eggplant, bell pepper and jalapenos. We also grew Curly Kale and Dinosaur Kale and Basil.

Our garden did really well! We did have a problem with Tomato Horn Worms and grasshoppers but other than that pests weren’t too bad. I think it helped that we had an army of little spiders helping us out.

The boys also got to enter their produce in the local county fair and won several 1st and 2nd place ribbons as well as Best of Show. I was super proud of them!

We are still getting a ton of tomatoes, which I love because I can eat tomatoes until I’m sick! It’s a problem. But not really because they’re healthy. Right?

The best part of our garden this year was how much the boys loved every aspect of it, from planting to tending to picking and eating the vegetables. We made a lot of good memories together amongst the plants and dirt.

See you later, I’ve got to go eat some tomatoes. 🙂
